I fell behind on this post since before we left for Villa de Leyva, we went to Puente de Boyacá (Point of Boyaca) where there is a famous bridge which was built over 200 years ago to celebrate Colombia's independence from Spain. I went with Sister Barbarita and Julia by bus and Sister ended up talking to the priest of the Saint Michael the Archangel Church who just happened to be seated behind me, which is located on the road above the Boyaca bridge. Below are pictures from our personal tour of the church and Point of Boyaca.
Arriving at Puente de Boyacá
Video of the lights around the crucifix which would change from red, yellow, blue, purple, but here only shows blue.
Jesus being baptized in the waters through Boyaca bridge
Assumption of Mary
Resurrection of Jesus on the Cross
Paisaje (Landscape) with storm rolling in so we had to be quick on the way to the bridge
The Von Miller monument, depicting five allegoric female figures (Symbolic of Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia) holding Simón Bolívar. In front is a statue of Clio (I'm standing next to), the Muse of History who submits a manuscript.
Me standing above the bridge (first, small white bridge)
Close-up of the bridge as we rushed back to the road before getting caught in the storm
